Putts for Mutts A Swinging Success! The Fifth Annual Putts for Mutts sponsored by Fonner View Golf Course was another swinging success. The 18 teams along with their dogs enjoyed beautiful a Saturday morning for golfing. New and old golf teams joined the pack of Central Nebraska Humane Society of supporters to putt for lifesaving differences for all the animals at the adoption center. A few of the rookie caddie’s (dog’s) dumped their pro golfer’s pull carts, while others would cheer from their cart. With doggie treats placed throughout the course, cold drinks, and some heart pounding golf shots everyone returned to the club house laughing about all their adventures they had on the course. Stories, flag prizes, t-shirts and the winner were announced as everyone had grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. The first place team was a father and son combo of Pete and Mike Kortum with a winning score of 33. A tie for second place with a score of 34 went to the teams of Steve Retzlaff/Tim Dethloff and Eric Bicknase/Tim Holmes. Thank you to everyone who participated!
